dressing up (part II)

dolled up in the evidence it's prevelant that
you're the victim not the crime and the prime suspect
is time so you put on your best shoes and pretend
to choose which past fits you best (does it match this vest?)
sling on those pants, those old legs left to dance
dusted with chance and perhaps a romance that will happen
and harden and beckon future heart sutures and stitches
that will hem your legs best to better match that vest
and slick new tie in fashion, tug that knot, choke the passion
and part your thoughts nice with a brush, floss your eyes
let the blood rush out so the sights can go play and dress up
get dolled up in their own way and come 'round to reflection

this outfit is an insurrection
this suit is a cou de ta
je ne m'adapte pas

but it's okay
i can pull you out of a lineup any time
damn you look good
damn you looked fine
damn if the victim didn't commit the crime
